The mood, also known as happiness, is one of the characteristics of the character.
There are 10 different mood stages:
- You are very wretched
0 - 1 points - You are sorrowful
2 - 3 - You are extremely unhappy
4 - 5 - You are annoyed
6 - 7 - You are in a good mood
8 - 9 - You are happy
10 - 11 - You are very happy
12 - 13 - What a mellow mood, man.
14 - 15 - Hey buddy, you are on fire !
16 - 19 - Oooh yeah, man! Life is sooo smoooooooth...

Points to increase the mood can be obtained:
- by attending the mess (+2)
- by using a four leaf clover (+20)
- by drawing a card of a deck of divinatory Tarot cards (10 - +15 points)
- by possessing the Barrel of Saint Boulasse (+20 as long as it is in the inventory)
- by using a Philtre of Boulassenberg (+20)
- by equipping a paintbrush in the wardrobe (+1 as long as equipped)
- by equipping a Crystalline pendulum in the wardrobe (-20 / +20 bonus at reset)
- by equipping the fanned tarot cards in the wardrobe (+ random amount at reset)
- by having an Orb of Acedia in the inventory (+5% chance to change the mood to being smoooooth)
- by having an Orb of Pleasure in the inventory (+x% chance to change the mood to being smooooooth during the next reset)
- by having a Chalice of Lust in the inventory (next alcoholic beverage gives +2 happiness points instead of alcohol points)
- by having a Coin of Friendship in the inventory (+2 happiness when giving to beggars
- by receiving a gift (increase of 2 mood levels)

- by equipping the fanned tarot cards in the wardrobe (- random amount at reset)
Note:
- Some bonus events happening at reset are related to the mood / to changes of the mood stages:
- 'What a mellow mood, man'. changing into 'Hey buddy, you are on fire !' (or vice versa)
- 'Hey buddy, you are on fire !' changing into 'Oooh yeah, man! Life is sooo smoooooooth... (or vice versa)
- During St. Patrick's Day event the happiness received from a pinto of beer is doubled.
