Bill of indictment

The bill of indictment is the first step of a trial in court: it is the public reading of the official statement of the charge in front of the accussed, the plaintiff, the prosecutor (who may be the mayor if he initiated the trial), the judge and any witnesses.
This is followed by the first defence case.
