The municipal election is a public voting done by the citizens of a town to find the best candidate who will be the mayor and govern the village for a period of 30 days until the next municipal election.

Who can candidate?

To run in a municipal election as a candidate a character has to:

  • be at least level 15 or higher
  • aquire the skill "Municipal ambitions" to candidate
  • pay 50 pounds registration fee (the fee is paid to the county).


A character cannot candidate if:


To convince citizens to trust your character by giving their vote think of an interesting election program.
If there is no candidate at the time of a new voting, the mayor will simply remain in office. Every 8 days a new election will be held.
A dead character who is mayor will keep the position until another candidate takes his place by winning an election.

Note:

  • It is not necessary to be a citizen of the town to run for mayor.
  • Running for mayor will give increase your sin by 10%.



When to candidate?

If your character meets all requirements he can candidate for the next election 2 - 14 days before election day / the end of the current electoral period. Earlier or later it is not possible to candidate.

Who can vote?

To vote in a municipal election a character is required to:

  • have aquired the skill "Municipal Voter"
  • take residence in the town
  • be outside of prison

Note:

  • When voting for a candidate this voting information itself is saved in the interface. The voting information will be gone once the character witnesses the result of a municipal election in the home town.
    • Switching the home town after voting but before the election is over will block the character from voting at the next election in the new home town. The character first needs to witness the election result for a voting (tho never having voted in that election) for the voting entry to be removed from the interface.



When to vote?

It is possible to start voting 5 days before the election ends and be given until last minute when the election officially ends.

How to vote?

  • Go to the town hall and choose the tab "Elections"
  • Choose the candidate you want to vote for
  • Confirm your choice by clicking on the "Vote" button.



The results

  • To win an election you need to have an absolute majority (>50% of the votes)
  • If no one gets the absolute majority then a 2nd round takes place for 2 days. The one with the best score is being elected mayor

Note:

  • If there are 2 candidates and both have excatly 50% of the votes (no matter if in 1st or 2nd round) the oldest character (= date of creation) will win the election.



Resignation

If a mayor decides to resign new municipal elections are held:

  • candidates can register immediately until 2 days before the election ends
  • Voting starts 8 days after the day of [resignation]] and lasts for 7 days



Note:

  • Resignation is done immediately.
  • The name of the mayor will no longer be readable in the town hall
  • The former mayor has no longer access to the office in the town hall
  • New elections are automatically triggered in 8 days.



Revolts

If villagers decide to revolt and take the town hall overnight these rules apply:

  • The character with the most charisma will become mayor in a successful revolt
  • If the charisma is identical for 2 characters the older character (= Date of creation) will be the next mayor
  • If the age is again identical it will determined by alphabetical order.



Note:

  • A revolt does not change the date of the next election.
  • If the town hall is taken over by an army the next election will be held in 30 days.
  • If the mayor (by election, by force of an army or by a revolt) resigns, the next election will be in 8 days.
